Meeting a mate is complicated enough without a dog doing interpretive dance at the end of the lead. Do you leave them at home, or bring them along and spend the journey wondering whether 'dog-friendly' means 'genuinely welcome' or 'tolerated, grudgingly, in the bit of garden nearest the bins'?

Meeting a mate is complicated enough without a dog doing interpretive dance at the end of the lead. Do you leave them at home, or bring them along and spend the journey wondering whether 'dog-friendly' means 'genuinely welcome' or 'tolerated, grudgingly, in the bit of garden nearest the bins'?

That's the knot FairWhere is built to untie. We judge whole journeys rather than the midpoint, then go hunting for pubs where dogs aren't merely permitted but actively courted — water bowls on the floor, a jar of biscuits behind the bar, a fire to flop in front of.

To make the cut, a pub had to be properly dog-welcoming indoors (not just the garden), good enough that the humans want to stay too, easy to reach from a station, and near a park, heath, common or river. We've spread them across North, East, South, West and Central London, and checked every one is still pulling pints in 2026.

Here they keep the biscuits at nose height and nobody blinks when I claim the best seat by the fire. Ten out of ten. Would drool again.

Filter by what you're doing

Best when the plan is walk the dog, then a pint with a garden or water bowl - not a random dog-welcome room downtown. Shortlist here, then rank for the humans’ Tube rides. Pair with Dog walk and a pint geos (Heath, Victoria Park, Greenwich, Richmond, Regent’s Park) when the walk is stop 1.

Frequently asked questions

What does Near Park/Heath/Common mean on dog-friendly pubs?
Dog-Friendly Pubs to Meet Up in London filtered this way keeps pubs tagged as a short walk from a park, heath or common - useful after a dog walk, not just any dog-welcome room. FairWhere can still rank that shortlist by journey fairness for the humans travelling.
Can we pair these pubs with a Hampstead Heath dog walk?
Yes. Use Dog walk and a pint on Hampstead Heath (/occasions/dog-walk-and-a-pint/hampstead-heath) - or Victoria Park, Greenwich Park, Richmond riverside, Regent’s Park - to open the Activity pair planner with Dog friendly pre-selected, then finish at a verified exit pub. Or shortlist these near-park pubs and rank them fairly for your group’s origins.
How do we pick a fair pub after the walk?
Filter here for Near Park/Heath/Common, add each person’s origin in FairWhere, and rank by journey fairness so the dog’s afternoon does not cost one friend an hour of Tube.
How do we find a dog-friendly pub that works for the whole group?
Dog-Friendly Pubs to Meet Up in London is curated for pubs that welcome dogs. Filter for beer garden, water bowls or near a park, then let FairWhere rank by journey fairness for the humans travelling: the dog still needs a fair walk to the door.
Can we combine a park walk with the pub?
Yes - use Dog walk and a pint (/occasions/dog-walk-and-a-pint) for dog-friendly walks citywide, or the Hampstead Heath geo page (/occasions/dog-walk-and-a-pint/hampstead-heath) when that is the plan. Filter this Placelist for Near Park/Heath/Common when the pub should sit next to open space.
How does FairWhere rank places on Dog-Friendly Pubs to Meet Up in London?
FairWhere ranks venues on this Placelist by FairWhere Score: journey fairness for your whole group, not by popularity, sponsorship, or who suggested the place first. Open Plan a fair meet to add origins and see the ranked shortlist.
