Picture the group chat. Four of you, four different railways, one increasingly fraught question: where do we actually meet? One's pulling into King's Cross, one's under the departure boards at St Pancras, one's been told to 'just come to Euston' and is now doing mournful laps of a bus station. Someone panics and suggests the nearest pub, which turns out to be a chain the size of an aircraft hangar serving lager at the temperature of regret.

One's pulling into King's Cross, one's under the departure boards at St Pancras, one's been told to 'just come to Euston' and is now doing mournful laps of a bus station. This is the London terminus problem: nine enormous stations, dozens of exits, and a default meeting spot that's usually grim, rammed, or a fifteen-minute trek nobody agreed to. FairWhere exists to find the fairest place for everyone's whole journey, not just the dot in the middle of the map, and that same logic makes a rather good pub list.

Every pick is a short walk from its terminal and lands as a fair rendezvous for people off different trains. We favoured the well-reviewed and the genuinely interesting over the identikit chain, chased a spread of moods (cask-ale snug, gin-palace glamour, canalside glass box), and checked each one is actually open and pouring in 2026 — spread across all nine of London's big stations.

I once told everyone to 'meet in the middle', and the middle turned out to be a traffic island outside a Pret. Never again. Tell me the pub, tell me which door, and I'll be the one already at the bar.
