Frequently asked questions
Where should we meet at Waterloo for the South Bank?
Meeting points on South Bank, the Strand to London Bridge filtered for station keeps rail-edge pins you can text - better than “meet somewhere on the South Bank.” Add origins in FairWhere and rank so the person coming from Zone 4 isn’t walking an extra river mile.
Is a station pin better than a riverside landmark?
If anyone arrives by train, yes - station-side pins reduce wrong-entrance fails. Switch to landmark or indoor filters when the meet is later in the evening or it rains.
What should we do after we meet?
Continue to Free Museums London, After-Work Drinks, or Dog walk and a pint if the group wants a second stop - FairWhere can rank the next shortlist fairly too.
Why isn't “meet on the South Bank” enough?
The South Bank stretches for about a mile opposite the Strand. This Placelist uses foyers, terraces and river landmarks you can text, then ranks them so the pin is specific and reachable.
Can we use these pins for Between the Bridges Oktoberfest?
Yes, as meet pins, not as a festival list. Between the Bridges Oktoberfest weekends run 25 September to 17 October 2026 on Queen's Walk, with sessions from 6pm on the Friday and Saturday dates. Check the official South Bank listing, then text one of these pins and walk to the site.
Where should we meet if it rains?
Filter for indoor or rainy day to surface foyers and covered landmarks, then rank the meet so the rendezvous is fair before anyone walks the wrong way along the river.
