These are the rooms where dinner does not stay seated. Someone stands up to dance, someone waves a napkin, the band or the DJ is in the same space as the plates. Portuguese canteens, Greek nights, Brazilian bars, a Brixton arch — community and holiday energy, not a Mayfair clubstaurant.

Nothing here is a members door or a champagne parade. The test is simple: can you still be at the table when the night tips over? If the dancing happens in a different room, or only after they clear the furniture for a ticketed club, it belongs on another list.
