A rare purpose-built riverside Young's pub with a wide terrace staring across the water at St Paul's. Proper pints, pub food, and one of the best free views on the bank. Fair because it's wedged between Blackfriars (Thameslink) and the Tate/Millennium Bridge, so northerners can walk over the river and still pretend they didn't. Useful detail: most of the outside tables are walk-in only, which on this stretch is genuinely precious — a group of eight can simply turn up rather than plotting a reservation raid.
