Elephant & Castle is a proper bridgehead for this list: two minutes from the Bakerloo and Northern lines and half a dozen bus routes, so it costs a north Londoner and a south Londoner roughly the same effort to get there. Go before the end of 2026 if you can, since the site is due to close for redevelopment after a decade of trading. Useful detail: there's an on-site urban farm you can wander after eating.
