Why the Parkland Walk with a dog
Parkland Walk is London's longest linear nature reserve: the old Northern Heights railway from Finsbury Park to Highgate, with ghost platforms at Crouch End. Dogs are welcome. Haringey allows off-lead in large parks including this reserve. Keep them under control on a shared path with cyclists.
This is not Best for Dogs. The cutting is a corridor, not open heath. Highgate tunnels are closed, so the walk ends at Holmesdale Road. The planner starts with Dog friendly on and Parkland Walk selected.

- Haringey allows dogs off-lead in large parks including Parkland Walk, if they are under control. It is a shared path with cycles, so keep them close where it narrows or gets busy. Pick up after them.

- Best for Dogs is for open heath and park loops where a dog can stretch out. Parkland Walk is a linear cutting: welcome with a dog, but not an open run like the Heath or Victoria Park.
